Join used clothing alchemist, Crispina ffrench for a creative day turning old t-shirts into a lovely versatile dress you can wear all summer long. Layers of T-shirts are cut to a pattern and stitched together by hand and machine. Hidden colors are exposed by cutting away and through other layers. Simple and creative using materials that are prevalent in thrift stores and even your dresser.
Students will end the day with a finished Summer Swing Dixie Dress to wear home. The use of all tools and technique are included in tuition. A material fee of $20 is additional. Tools and materials are for sale onsite for those who would like to continue with the process after the workshop. Students should feel free to bring along their favorite pair of fabric cutting scissors (although I do provide scissors), and if they have a portable sewing machine that would be helpful too.

Crispina has been creatively recycling wool sweaters since 1987 and is a published author of The Sweater Chopshop by Storey Publishing. She ran a wholesale manufacturing company for 21 years, CRiSPiNA Designs, Inc., supplying 350 accounts with blankets, rugs, and clothing all made from recycled clothing. Crispina has strong teaching skills, is inspiring, encouraging and welcoming. Her unmatched style imparts a sense of enthusiasm and confidence.
