Toni Morrison won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1993. In this course we will consider three of her works of fiction written in the twenty years before her selection as laureate - Sula, Beloved, and Jazz. Whether you are already a Morrison buff, a reader frustrated by her style, or a curious neophyte, this course is for you. We will read at a good clip, roughly a book every two weeks, and the classes will be discussions, always with an eye on the text.
