14S302F Changes in Spiritual Perspectives Across Lifetimes

Full Length (5-8 weeks) | This course is completed

Every person’s spiritual perspective has undergone changes over their lifetime. For some persons the change was a shift or drift over time — a turning point or incremental changes in thinking about the meaning of life. Others arrived at course adjustments through reading or study. Still others had a transformative life experience. By learning of others’ experiences, we can become more open to diverse definitions and experiences of spirituality — and to how they may inform our own perspective. By sharing our own narrative, we gain insight into how we came to view life as we do.

This course will involve each participant sharing an episode or an overview of important changes in her or his spiritual perspective in a 15” presentation; this will be followed by classmates commenting and asking questions with the aim of better understanding the experiences and thinking described; the comment and question time will not be confrontational. Importantly, persons with either God or non-God perspectives are encouraged to enroll and will be respected.

There are no required textbooks for this course.
