For those with little or no editing experience. In this class students will learn the aesthetics of edit- ing styles, as well as hands-on skills, such as using a nonlinear editing program and creating a DVD. Final Cut editing software will be covered in detail. Examples of various editing techniques ranging from Hollywood classics to experimental, independent, documentary films and videos will be screened and discussed.
Instructor -- Jess Weichler
(BA in Film and Video Production, Point Park University and Pittsburgh Filmmakers) As Lead Instructor at Pittsburgh Filmmaker's Youth Media Program Jess teaches animation and editing courses to adults and children alike. In her former life Jess was Head Librarian and Head Teaching Assistant at Pittsburgh Filmmakers. She has also interned at Cornerstone TeleVision and New Perspective. Jess is an avid geek and enjoys programming robots and video games in her spare time.
