Quitting smoking is the single most important step a smoker can take to improve the length and quality of his or her life, and this program from the American Lung Association is considered the "gold standard" for helping adult smokers quit. The program teaches skills and techniques that have been proven to help smokers quit.Many insurance companies offer benefits related to smoking cessation or nicotine replacement - contact your insurance company to find out if your policy will cover the cost of this class.
- Meets weekly on Wednesdays except for week four, when the class meets twice - Monday and Wednesday.
- Attention Salem Health Employees: Salem Health will provide a $100 scholarship for any employee who completes Freedom From Smoking (so the class only costs you $20) plus a 3-month supply of nicotine patches will be provided by Employee Health. Instructor -- Nancy Baldwin
Nancy Baldwin is a certified cancer exercise specialist and personal trainer with over 17 years experience in the health and fitness industry. A former facilitator of the Oregon Health Sciences University/Lance Armstrong Foundation Clinical Trials for research with breast and prostate cancer patients, she now works on development and implementation of programs that meet the health and wellness needs of our community. A featured speaker and community outreach sponsor, she has devoted herself to the health, well being, and support of patients and their families. Nancy resides in Keizer Oregon with her husband and three children who enjoy camping, biking, music and art.
