In this fun 2-day workshop with Kate Buzzell, you will build your very own ceramic gingerbread house which you will be able to enjoy year after year. You will learn how to connect ceramic slabs, add texture, carve designs, and use slip trailing and underglazes to decorate your gingerbread house. Make your house into a luminary or enjoy as is! Kate Buzzell
Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs
Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
