Young sculptors will enjoy digging their hands into clay and building unique creations with 171 ceramics instructor, Kate Buzzell. Students will make delicate pinch pots and colorful creatures, and work from their imaginations. Clay is a tactile experience like none other and students will enjoy their one-of-a-kind creations for years to come!

Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs
Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
