Experimental Art: Outside the Box for Teens will have your creativity sparked by pushing the bounds of Fine Art. Join instructor Kate Buzzell for this fun project-based class focusing on color theory and composition through acrylic painting, mixed media, drawing with pen and charcoal, and more. You will have the chance to explore both 2 and 3-dimensional art making. In this session, students will be focusing on fun and creative painting styles such as pixel art, impressionism, and abstract art.

Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs
Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
