Kids' Choreography | Winter/Spring

As a choreographer and youth educator, I believe that all children are natural dance makers. In this course, students will learn the basics and frameworks of how to construct a dance. Students will get to experience being the sole choreographer, as well as how to co-choreograph in small groups. At the end of this class, we will hold a showcase of their work for family and friends!
Students must be currently enrolled in at least one other dance technique class of any genre to support their learning.
Attire: Form-fitting dance wear such as a leotard and footless tights or a dance tank top with dance pants/leggings/dance shorts. Bare feet.
Sage Ulrich
Sage Teaches: Dance and Theater
Sage Ulrich has been dancing since age four and has studied and performed with 171 Cedar Arts Center from childhood through to high school graduation. Performing and choreographing extensively throughout college, Sage graduated with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College in 2019. Sage has been teaching dance and art for the Summer Camp programs at 171 since 2017.
