Enjoy another great summer of art and fun at 171! Our staff of teaching artists will ensure your child has the perfect artful summer experience. We offer summer camps for ages 6-11 on a weekly basis from June 30 – August 22, specialty camps, and Teen Intensives for ages 12 and up. During our summer programs, students will experience a range of artistic activities from painting and crafts to cooking and ceramics. Register now for a week or an entire summer of day camps at 171!
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, 171 reserves the right to make any necessary changes to our summer camp programming or to cancel a session due to low enrollment.
Upcycled Art Week AM will have campers in the art room with Miss Kate creating art from found and used objects!
Kate Buzzell
Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs
Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
