Teen Intensive - Experimental Art: Outside the Box with Kate Heiman
Experimental Art: Outside the Box will have your creativity sparked by pushing the bounds of Fine Art. Join instructor Kate Heiman for this fun project-based camp focusing on color theory and composition through acrylic painting, mixed media, drawing with pen and charcoal, printmaking and more.
Some projects for this camp include:
Expressing yourself through self portraits
Playing with light and shadow
Mural painting
Put all your skills together for a final project

Kate Buzzell
Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs
Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
