Creative Movement 1 is the perfect introduction to dance for 3-4-year-olds. Dancers will explore the basics of dance technique while working on rhythm, coordination, spatial awareness, balance, physical control, and self-expression. There will be a lot of movement songs and an opportunity to use percussive instruments to introduce the dancers to the relationship of sound and music to moving their bodies. Imagination play will get their bodies moving while teaching them about the different qualities to movement (slow, fast, sharp, smooth, etc.) Across the floor exercises will help prepare them for the structure of beginner dance classes once they graduate from Creative Movement 1 and 2. Keeping dancers entertained while learning beginning dance skills will help them to acquire a lifelong love of dance.

Attire: Comfortable clothes to move around in. Leotards, fitted t-shirts, footless tights, leggings, sweatpants, bare feet.

PLEASE NOTE: Students must be the proper age by September 1st.
