In this 4 week class with artist & instructor, Kate Buzzell, students will focus on the small and miniature. This includes jewelry, buttons, and small sculptures! Students will learn how to add little but meaningful details and use textures and tools they may be new to such as press molds, metal strainers, sgraffito tools, nichrome wire and more.

All clay, supplies, and firings are included in the cost of the class.

Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs

Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant.  She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
