Join artist and instructor, Becky McNeill, for a relaxed, hands-on, embroidery workshop where we’ll create a charming felt heart magnet or ornament. You’ll learn a handful of essential stitches, including straight stitch, lazy daisy, French knots, and blanket stitch, as we work at an easy pace with plenty of time to chat and enjoy the creative process. Most participants will leave with a finished piece that’s perfect for gifting or keeping as a sweet seasonal decoration.
Rebecca McNeill
Becky McNeill is a self-taught modern improvisational quilt artist whose quilts have shown in fine art galleries and exhibitions across the country. Her work is known for its vibrant color palettes, bold geometric patterns, aspirational messages, and stories conveyed through the use of shape and hue. As part of her creative process, McNeill also embroiders and paints. Becky's embroidery incorporates many traditional stitches using patterns that she has designed. Her paintings are in a loose, whimsical style that brings relaxation and joy to her workflow. The playfulness of her painting is a counterbalance to the precision and intricacy of her quilting work. She is a member of the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, Studio Art Quilt Associates, and the Modern Quilt Guild.
