Calling all painters and ceramicists! Join Kate Buzzell, 171’s Handbuilding instructor, to Make Your Own Paint Palette! Beginner to advanced students will be able to create custom paint palettes that perfectly suit their painting needs. Do you ever wish your paint palette had an extra well, a larger mixing area, a place to rest your brushes, or special decorations that inspire you? Making your own paint palette is the perfect solution! It can be round, square, wiggly, or even have handles. Come have fun and be creative on a Friday evening at 171!

Kate Teaches: Art, Ceramics, Summer Camps, and Outreach Programs
Kate (Heiman) Buzzell is a mixed-media contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, jewelry designer, and 171 Cedar Arts Center’s gallery assistant. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Ceramics. After college, Kate moved to Los Angeles where she put her sculpting and design skills toward creating unique music videos before going to Atlanta and working in the Atlanta film industry as a sculptor and set decorator. She enjoys using mixed media to combine realism and abstraction to demonstrate the relationship between the beauty of our world and our imaginations.
