The function of a berry bowl with the ease of a mug! Hand build a berry bowl mug in this two-hour ceramics workshop for beginning and experienced adults as young as 18. Instructor Martha Manikas-Foster will guide students through the full making process and help all students feel successful with their creations. At the end of the workshop, students will choose a glaze color for their berry mug to finish their piece that will be ready for them in a few weeks after the workshop.

Martha Teaches: Introduction to Clay and Handbuilding Workshops
Martha Manikas-Foster is a writer, broadcaster, and potter living in Corning, NY who uses slips, underglazes, and carving tools to decorate her thrown and hand-built ceramics. Martha’s work has been included in numerous art exhibitions and events in the area including the Arnot Art Museum’s Gallery Gala and the Museum’s Holiday Art Market, 171 Cedar Art Center’s Artful Exhibits, Summer Mosaic, and annual Student & Faculty Exhibitions. She is a member of the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes where she regularly displays her work. Martha teaches one-day ceramics workshops in the art center’s ceramics studio. Her beautiful functional work is available for purchase on Corning’s Market Street at the ARTS Council’s gallery shop.
