A class to expand your personal repertoire with classical ballet variations. Learn about the history behind the ballet, including details like the composer, choreographer, and first ballet company to perform it. We’ll focus variations from ballets like Don Quixote and The Sleeping Beauty for auditions or just for the fun of it! Either way you’ll learn and use new skills. Ideal for ages 12 and up. Pointe shoes are not required but encouraged for practicing technique.
Laurel Shaut
Laurel Shaut began her ballet journey studying under Ms. Wendy at the age of four before continuing on to join 171 Cedar Arts Center. Throughout her years of dancing, Laurel has participated in Patty Ozer’s Story Ballets since 2015 and has choreographed two award winning competition dances with her fellow 171 Cedar Arts dancers. When she isn’t dancing, Laurel enjoys fostering her creative spirit by painting, drawing, ceramics, playing guitar, and sewing projects such as costumes for the Story Ballets. Laurel is very honored to be a part of the 171 Cedar Arts Center family and is proud to assist in fulfilling their mission of supporting the arts to the Corning community.
