Eat more nutritious meals and cut costs with a little more planning, fewer trips to the store, and about an hour a month of kitchen preparation. We will discuss recent nutritional studies, local bargains, and some effective strategies. I’ll demonstrate some of my methods.

Week 5: Making veggie stock
Week 6: Baking bread and cheap chocolate cake.
Text: No textbook but emailed suggestions from instructor and articles and quizzes from New York Times and the Center for Science in the Public Interest, publisher of the Nutrition Action Newsletter.
Leader: Margaret Pearson has cut her food costs in half, improved her health, and lost weight using these methods, and has helped others. She is not a professional nutritionist but has worked with them for over ten years and learned much.
