Osher at Northern Stage: The Play That Goes Wrong

Saturday, March 30th, 12:30 pm – 4:15 pm

Osher at Dartmouth members and their guests will have a special “inside look” at Northern Stage’s production of The Play That Goes Wrong, the Olivier Award-winning comedy has been keeping audiences in stitches across the world since 2012.

As described on the Northern Stage website, this play about an amateur theatrical company’s production of a murder mystery, a play-within-a-play, is farce at its best:

Buckle up for a wild ride -- things are about to go VERY WRONG! Welcome to opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things quickly unravel from bad to utterly disastrous. With an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines), chaos ensues and can’t seem to stop!

The Play That Goes Wrong is by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields.  This Northern Stage production is directed by Peter Hackett and made possible in part thanks to generous support by Gail and John Wasson. Moderated by John Sanders and David Grant.

Our schedule will be:

12:30 pm: Join study leaders David Grant and John Sanders in the Lamal Community Room at Northern Stage for a discussion with director Peter Hackett and several cast members.

2:00 pm – Attend the matinee performance of The Play That Goes Wrong in the Byrne Theater

3:45 pm – Enjoy a post-performance conversation with Carol Dunne, Producing Artistic Director of Northern Stage, in the Lamal Community Room.
