Welcome to the world of Hand lettering! In my class, we will have a good time taking our wonky letters and turning them into beauties. No, this is NOT formal wedding calligraphy or perfect brush lettering, but rather a place where you can practice and create a lettering style all your own.

For this class, you don’t need any art training at all…your own handwriting style will unlock your inner artist, but it does take some practice, so be prepared to spend some time with homework. I’ll encourage you by demonstrating what I’ve learned and what works for me, and I’ll show you all sorts of examples to follow.

We’ll be using all kinds of markers and pens, lovely papers, and even some watercolor. Along the way, we’ll learn some letter shading and number forms. My goal is to help you become more self-assured with lettering so you can enhance your sketchbook, journal, or correspondence. We’re going to SLOW DOWN and learn all the tricks of the trade that have worked for me, and toss out the need to be perfect! Who needs that?
