This is an epic tale of young Robyn Davidson’s trek across 1,700 miles of the Australian outback from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean with only four camels and her faithful dog. Visually stunning photographs by National Geographic photographer Rick Smolan tell the story not only of Robyn's physical challenges but her remarkable ability to connect with the Aborigines and to reach a deep understanding of their own challenges in a country determined to rid them of their ancestral lands in the 1970s.
