Mindful Living in Modern Times (In-person)
Spring (14 hrs or more) | Available (Membership Required)
What is mindful practice, and how might it support me in navigating both the joys and difficulties of daily life in these modern times? Mindfulness meditation is a skill, and mindful practice is a way of being, that throughout history have supported thriving even in the midst of hardship. In more recent times, extensive research has further demonstrated the utility of such approaches in addressing both medical and psychosocial challenges. Join us as we explore this set of practices to address themes we face in our own lives, such as aging and other life transitions, relationships, community, stress management, and flourishing.
We will meet for seven sessions, each including instruction and practice of specific mindfulness meditation techniques. We will also incorporate mindful movement, didactic content, group dialogue and inquiry, as well as guidance for further meditative practice between sessions. Both newcomers and experienced meditators are welcome.
