Introduction to Floral Design: How to design a beautiful arrangement at home IP

Summer 1.5 to 3.5 hours | Registration opens 5/12/2025 12:00 AM EDT

A lot of us really enjoy flowers. We enjoy how they make us feel in the moment, and we enjoy the memories that they hold for us. Unfortunately, many of us are terrified of actually getting our hands on some flowers and really creating something special. We're afraid of getting it wrong. Good news! This half day workshop is for beginners, including those of you who may be reticent to try your hand at floral design.

While designers, particularly seasoned ones, seem to follow their instincts in no apparent order, they have all learned to perform standard tasks at the beginning stage of flower arranging as well as at the end. In between, the technical work of color selection, style, and other artistic decisions are guided both by a loosely structured process as well as the personal taste of the designer. In just three hours you will learn and apply a simple model as a road map for the design process which takes into consideration the basics of floral design.

The end result is that you will create one big beautiful arrangement of summer flowers to take home as you experience the joy and satisfaction of learning the basics of flower arranging!!

  • A $45 materials fee per student is due to the instructor on the day of class.  This fee covers the cost of flowers, floral foam, tape, and container.
