1969 was an amazing year in our nation’s history by any measure you can imagine. The forces at work in our culture seemed to culminate–or at least reach full expression–in that year. In music alone it was a remarkable year–even though it was the Beatles’ last concert. We will cover all aspects–music, pop culture–even the counter culture–politics, the arts, technology, and all the rest of it. As usual, your experiences and memories will be an important part of the context. We will have local performers contribute as well. It will be a fond trip down what’s left of memory lane.

This course will combine lecture with class discussion.
