King Edward II illegally sentences Margaret de Badlesmere and her five young children to imprisonment in the Tower of London. The first known woman imprisoned in the Tower, Margaret fights to protect her children from cold, hunger, and sickness as she plans their escape. Can she overcome the odds to save her children and regain her liberty?
During this Special Lecture, Hilary will describe some of the research, writing, and publishing adventures she experienced while creating Right of Answer.

Hilary Llewellyn-Thomas
For over 35 years, Hilary Llewellyn-Thomas, PhD, studied individuals’ decision making in close-call health care situations. Hence, she has been deeply absorbed in scientific writing. Since retiring in 2011, she’s been able to devote more time to reading and writing historical fiction. Hilary doesn’t claim to be an expert in historical fiction…but is enthusiastic about sharing what she learned while creating a novel that’s set in England back in 1321-1322.
