The Dance Craze (In-person)
Spring (4-8 hours) | Available (Membership Required)
Couples dancing has been a part of the human experience since time immemorial, but during the twentieth century it became an important part of our social and developmental life, especially among the young.
We will study the various aspects of this phenomenon using YouTubes and various other sources—the music behind it all, the artists, the bands, and the amazing variety of forms that it all took. It will be a fascinating trip down Memory Lane and will showcase the amazing phenomenon that it was. Local performers will also share their music and thoughts with us.
This course will consist of lectures and discussions with participants.
This is a 4-session course (8 hours total).
