Unlock Your Inner Florist: A Beginner’s Workshop in Floral Design (In-person)

Spring 2-3 hours | Available (Membership Required)

Would you like to know how to turn a bunch of supermarket flowers into a stunning bouquet? Or build a lovely table arrangement for a special dinner with friends? Have you seen a gorgeous bridal bouquet and wondered “how did they do that?” If you have a passion for flowers but little knowledge of how to work with them to create artistic and professional floral designs, this class is for you.

Learn the basics of floral design, applying foundational principles and practices to select and harmonize flowers with color, texture and structure, and meaning. In this experiential workshop, you will apply what you learn by creating a beautiful table arrangement for a spring celebration which you will take home.

In three hours, we will consider:

  1. The key elements of the floral design process
  2. How to use the color wheel for harmonious flower selection
  3. How to create a floral design recipe
  4. The necessary tools for flower preparation and design

Each class member will apply their learning by building an elegant and sumptuous table centerpiece for a spring dinner or celebratory event.

This course will consist of lectures with power point slides, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences.

This is a 1-session course (3 hours total).

  • A materials fee of $50 will be collected at the first class, payable by cash or check to the Study Leader. All materials will be provided.
