Is America Approaching a Debt Crisis? (Zoom)

Spring (4-8 hours) | Available (Membership Required)

For decades, doomsayers have warned that our growing national debt will lead to financial ruin. Fortunately, the debt crisis wolf has never appeared. There are indications, however, that our luck may be about to run out. Indeed, the government’s debt is so large that we spend almost as much servicing it as on our national defense (national defense!).

This course will address the nature of our debt, how it’s financed, and what drives its growth, focusing on taxes and spending. All discussed without political posturing or bumper-sticker solutions. (Spoiler alert: in the famous fable, the wolf eventually appears).

This course will combine lecture with class discussions.

This is a 3-session course (6 hours total).

  • There are no required books for this course.
