About Disney’s The Little Mermaid: What is it like to leave everything you know behind? To live in a world that was unknown to you before? Disney, imagineers of beloved fairy tales that touch our hearts and inspire our imaginations, turned Hans Christian Anderson’s story of Ariel, the titular Little Mermaid, who dreams of life above the sea and gives up her voice to find love, into a boldly creative musical masterpiece that will have the whole family singing along. The artistic challenges for Northern Stage include creating a stage picture that encompasses a world below and above the sea. Chad Larrabee, director of 2015’s Mary Poppins, will return to take the helm!
