For centuries philosophers, poets, scientists, religious leaders and many others have attempted to find an adequate and coherent response to human suffering. The causes of our pain are countless - illness, natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, hunger and so much more. The search for a response seems never to end.

The Book of Job was an early attempt to explain the cause or causes of human suffering. In this course we will take another look at the Book of Job. It offers a rich background for the search for answers, if any exist. The course will be a combination of text study and discussion.

  • There will be a reading packet and a required textbook for this course.
