Consumer DNA testing is advertised continuously on TV. What does it mean and what can you do with it? Learn what your ethnicity measurement really means and learn how to construct relationships using autosomal DNA. We will cover DNA testing by the main top four companies. We will also show how the X and Y chromosomes can help determine family relationships. A study guide, Genetic Genealogy in Practice by Blaine T. Bettinger and Debbie Parker Wayne, will be optional but is highly recommended as a very helpful resource.

  • There will be a reading packet and an optional text for this course.
