Yoga was developed in India 5,000 years ago in order to help monks develop the physical health to be able to meditate. It is a therapeutic practice that has many benefits. In this Beginner’s Yoga course we will start with the first steps of healing yoga poses and work together toward a fuller expression of each pose individually as participants gain in balance, strength, focus, and flexibility. Slow careful application of effort will bring many benefits to each student. These healing poses, done in a sequence, release toxins in organs and muscles and joints and help bring about greater health in many areas. Recent scientific studies have shown that yoga increases vascular and lymphatic health in the body and works to activate the continuation of the mineralization of the bones so that the skeletal system stays strong and healthy.

Any level of pracitioner is welcome as long as you bring your beginner’s mind, comfortable clothes, and a sense of humor.

  • There are no required reading packets or textbooks for this course.
