At the request of some participants, we will continue the course in Beginning Latin that we started in Fall 2018. Continuing the process we developed, we will look at syntax (that’s grammar) and see how that changed through the centuries. Participants who wish to join this continuing group will need to have a basic knowledge of Latin grammar and vocabulary. Each week there will be a simple reading assignment which shows you how the topics we’ve covered work and will give you a chance to read some Latin. We’ll do the grammar stuff in class, so bring scrap paper! Along the way, we’ll undoubtedly cover a bit of Roman and European history as it relates to language as it comes up. And we will celebrate our achievements Roman style!
