This is a hands-on course for new or seasoned gardeners which covers the use of perennials in the decorative garden. Participants will develop a basic understanding of choosing the right plants for a particular location and how to achieve the desired effect. We’ll cover requirements for light and shade, soil, fertilizing, composting, propagation and overall design.

The goal is to help the gardener to be successful, creative, and to learn from the resilience of the plants.

Carol has been gardening for over 50 years and was self-taught until her retirement allowed her to study Horticulture at UNH. She presently operates a small business  “Gypsy Gardener” which does consulting, garden design, and restoration as well as  field growing special varieties of perennials.
