Neugass, Richard

Richard’s interest in sports developed early under the influence of his father, a world-class sprinter who ran against Jesse Owens and boycotted the 1936 Berlin Olympics because of Hitler’s racially-oriented policies and actions. A die-hard fan of Washington, D.C. baseball (the Senators, now the Nationals baseball team), Richard has given Osher at Dartmouth courses related to the role of sports in society. He has a BA from Amherst College and Masters degrees from the University of Maryland.

Filmmaker Samantha Davidson Green currently serves as JAM's Executive Director. She has taught film-making and film-related courses at Dartmouth and Osher since 2013, bringing her background in public media and education back to the Upper Valley after completing her MFA in Film Directing at UCLA.

Rapf, Joanna

Joanna E. Rapf, a Visiting Professor at Dartmouth College in the Film & Media Studies Department, is an Emerita Professor of English & Film & Video Studies from the University of Oklahoma. She specializes in early film comedy and is co-editor of Wiley/Blackwell’s A Companion to Film Comedy (2013).
