Women globally organize to build their personal and collective power in the face of growing misogyny and violence. Courageous and creative, they defend not only their own rights but the dignity of their families and communities and the health of the planet. Their stories and strategies inspire. Through lively discussion and participation, we will examine their struggles while sampling some of their organizing approaches first hand.

For over 40 years, Valerie Miller has collaborated with Latin American, Asian, African, and U.S. colleagues from local social change organizations to the UN and beyond, helping to develop women leaders and social movements. At Just Associates, a global network of activists and scholars, Dr. Miller has facilitated workshops, seminars, research, and online courses on power, advocacy, and leadership. To do this, she taps into her rich experiences as a family planning counselor, organizer, writer, and trainer.
