Nothing lasts forever, nothing is complete and nothing is perfect is the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, which can be the foundation for great satisfaction and contentment. Join us in this heartfelt two-session course in which we will discover the truths of a 500-year-old Japanese tradition which celebrates the acceptance and deep appreciation of both the beauty in simplicity (Wabi), and the imperfections of life that come with the passage of time and the deep satisfaction and tranquility that result (Sabi).Through short seed lectures and visual examples of Wabi-Sabi in nature, art and design, we will discuss and contrast Wabi-Sabi with examples from our cluttered and busy world. We will learn the power of Wabi-Sabi to refresh and renew us through harmony with nature, acceptance of what is, having purity of heart and cultivating a state of stillness.
