For independent-study painting students with emphasis on conceptual understanding & building a body of work. Using ideas of abstract and non-objective painting, students will learn how to deconstruct traditional subjects such as the figure, landscape, and still life to create completely unique and personal visual images. For those who are more adventurous, delving into completely non-representational imagery is also an option based on elements of color, form, and space to structure an image. Different painting materials, mediums, tools, and techniques will be stressed.
