Drawing Humans
Youth Class | This class has been canceled
During this class, students will get familiar with human body proportions and shapes; begin to understand how different body parts relate to each other and all together create a unique body image. Using a manikin we will practice drawing a body in different poses and movements.
We will look at how artists use different styles to represent humans: formal portrait, comics, animation, cartoons and graphic novels. Returning students will continue to hone their skills and get into more detailed and creative ways to draw humans.

Nellie Shevelkina
Nellie holds a B.A. in Fine Arts and Education from the Art College of Moldova. She also studied Textile Design at the Textile Institute in Ivanovo, Russia and Parson School of Design in New York. Nellie has taught visual arts in public schools and community centers for more than 25 years and teaches private lessons in her home studio and at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven where she also heads the Young People's Department. Her teaching goal is to provide students with skills to enhance their creativity and enrich their lives with visual arts.
