Branch Weaving

Adult Class | This class has been canceled

Branch out and make a unique piece of nature-inspired textile art. Using a Y-shaped branch as your loom, you will learn a special lashing technique for warping so your weaving stays put. Beginners welcome. Students will learn basic weaving techniques and helpful tips to create a one-of-a-kind woven work. Please note: no class 10/9.

  • Students should bring a Y-shaped branch (1/2” to 2” diameter) anywhere from 15 to 30” in length, their own weaving materials (conventional and unconventional fibers such as yarn, raffia, thin wire, lace, twine, fabric scraps, items from nature like feathers and mosses) and a short, blunt-tip tapestry needle.
