Come work in the metalsmithing studio and stamp, hammer, fold, bend, cut, twist, shape, and heat metal to make jewelry and mini sculpture. Students will play with copper and brass sheet metal and wire to create 2 and 3 dimensional objects and forms from nature to wear or hang. Explore using basic hand tools, such as, hammers, mallets, saws, cutters, files, pliers, and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to have fun with metal!

  • Reduced tuition on youth classes requires a family membership.
  • For a full-day program, a morning class may be combined with an afternoon class. Supervised "bridge" care is available for these students, between 12-1PM, for an additional $40 per week.

CONNIE PFEIFFER received her MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate NY and a BA from Southern Connecticut State University. She has extensive teaching experience with a number of schools including Creative Arts Workshop, Wesleyan Potters, Rochester Magnet School of the Arts, Rochester Institute of Technology and the Jewish Community Center. Connie is a sculptor, metalsmith, and installation artist and a co-founder of City Gallery in New Haven. She maintains a studio in East Haddam, CT and exhibits widely
