Learn to knit using basic knit and purl stitches. Students will also learn how to read a knitting pattern and create a small project like a scarf, table runner or blanket. Please note class meets 6/25, 6/27, 7/2, 7/9, 7/11, 7/12, 7/16, 7/18.

  • Materials needed:
    Any pattern sheet you would love to make

    Scarf - two skeins of worsted weight yarn and knitting needle size 8(5mm) or 9(5.5mm)

    Table runner- any two skeins of your choice color or multicolor cotton worsted weight yarn and knitting needle size 8(5mm) or 9(5.5mm)

    Blanket: Three or 4 sport weight yarn and knitting needle size 7(4.5mm) or 8(5mm)

Netra has taught crochet classes to seniors in West Haven, CT. helping them improve hand/eye coordination. She has also taught knitting and crochet at Joann Art & Craft Store, and at the West Haven library.
