Sashiko Embroidery Explorations Workshop
Adult Workshop | This class is completed
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese art of functional embroidery defined by its use of the running stitch and geometric patterns. Sashiko translates to "little stabs" which describes the method used to create this distinctive running stitch. Although traditionally used to repair clothing, this class will explore its decorative uses on clothing and fabrics. A variety of geometric patterns, indigo dyed linen and white embroidery thread will be provided. Students may also bring in clothing or textiles to decorate.
