Mother & Child Workshop: Sailor Sweetheart Box
Youth Workshop | Registration opens 2/19/2025 8:00 PM EST
Sailor Sweetheart boxes are a souvenir to be given to a loved one, originally made in Barbados between 1830 and 1900. These boxes are typically designed with shells glued onto a backing with heart or flower motifs and sentimental messages.
In this workshop, design your own special keepsake box for Mother’s Day. Participants will be provided with a variety of materials such as local shells, charms, ribbons, collage papers, beads and flowers to create a unique treasure.
Each mother & child pair will receive a single Polaroid photo to keep inside their sweetheart box. Spend some special time with your loved one making creative memories together.
Tuition and material fees are per person.
- Reduced tuition rates on youth classes requires family level membership.
