Children will learn skills to create kiln fired pottery while engaged in fun projects in the pottery room. Students will experiment with coil, slab, pinch, stamping, imprints, and glazing techniques. Learn all about how to join clay, how to create sculptural forms and be introduced to a variety of glazing techniques. Young artists will also become familiar with how to use a variety of clay tools, and different methods to create design and texture in clay. We will create new projects for the Fall session, including: woodland and mythological animals, tree sculptures, treasure boxes, rain sticks as well as follow children’s own unique ideas. Come join the exciting fun and see how your clay pieces can be transformed in the kiln!
