Potholder Weaving: Tabby Weaving on a Peg Loom

Using 100% cotton loop materials from a New England family-owned mill and a sturdy metal peg loom, create a coordinating pair of potholders with your choice of color ways in a classic tabby weave, featuring herringbone and gingham patterns. You’ll finish at least one potholder in class and be able to complete the other at home. You’ll also learn how to read a weaving chart and some time saving tips.
- Materials fee $32.00, payable with tuition. Includes metal peg loom, cotton loop materials, two metal hooks, and printed weaving charts. Please bring a pair of embroidery scissors to snip threads.
Diane Villano
Diane has explored many artistic mediums, including needlework and polymer clay, and she’s currently designing and producing small-loom handwoven fabrics. Her award-winning work has been exhibited in juried shows throughout the country and has been published in numerous books and periodicals, including Lapidary Journal, Bead & Button, and Expression magazines. She earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Art Education and loves introducing students to the endless creative possibilities of weaving with the rainbow.
