Clay For Tweens
Youth and Teen | Registration opens 11/16/2025 8:00 PM EST
Students will explore hand-building techniques including pinch, coil, and slab methods, while learning decorative surface approaches such as carving, stamping, and adding clay embellishments. Instruction will also include the use of the potter’s wheel. Glazing techniques will allow students to add color and create a smooth, finished surface. Classes will feature guided projects as well as time for students to develop their own creative ideas.
- Reduced tuition rates on youth classes requires family level membership.
Alice Chittenden
ALICE CHITTENDEN holds a BFA degree from the University of Hartford and a MALS from Wesleyan University. She has studied at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, The Penland School of Crafts and Alfred University. She maintains her own studio and for the past five years has participated in the Shoreline Arts Trail. Her work is in the collection of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Jingdezhen, China and private collections in the UK, Australia and the US. She exhibits throughout Connecticut
