Rigid Heddle weaving is a great way to learn the basics of weaving and make a great product. Class covers the mechanics of a rigid loom, types of articles we can weave, weaving patterns, design ideas, and finishing. You’ll leave with a handmade piece you’ll be proud to show off or even use every day! Please note: NO class 1/19.
Robert Aiudi
Robert Aiudi, weaving & spinning since the age of about 8, comes from a silk weaving family from northern Italy. He studied at Wesleyan Potters in the 80s with Laurie Frenzel among others and is proud of his Textile Merit Badge from Boy Scouts achieved around 1971. He has spun nearly every fiber and weaves in many styles from traditional Colonial to modern tapestry techniques. He has a textile studio in Branford.
