Contemporary Watercolor - Follow the Leader
Adult | Registration opens 11/19/2025 8:00 PM EDT
Create fresh, inspired watercolor paintings. Nuanced color, compositional lights, and
calligraphic marks add unique style. Watercolor is a process, step-by-step, light to dark, big
to small. Sable (mink) brushes for transparent washes and Japanese natural-hair brushes,
to draw and color layers, add to the luxury of the experience. Learn the mechanics and
proceed to spirited paintings of our flower still life or documenting your travels, environment, and memorable events. Please note: NO class 1/19. This class has a required materials list.
- Please note: This class is 7 sessions
- Supplies: Palette: John Pike or similar from Jerry's Artarama online. Brushes from home: borrow from GAC until supplies are explained. You’ll only need 5-6 brushes. Paper: cold press watercolor 9x12 paper or block. Paint: children’s kit with fluorescent colors or other kit; or tubes of Rose Magenta, Lemon Yellow, French Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Gray to start. Don't waste money on bad supplies.
