Puppets in Live Theatre
Youth and Teen | Registration opens 11/19/2025 8:00 PM EST
Puppets are a captivating way to bring to life fantastical creatures, wild animals, or characters that cannot be portrayed by a live actor. Discover how puppets can interact with actors to tell a story. In this class, you’ll design and build your own puppet using safe, nontoxic materials such as wool for felting, wood, fabrics, and repurposed objects—perfect tools to help you bring your story to life.
Robin McCahill
Robin is a professional puppeteer and board member of the Connecticut Guild of Puppetry. With a mechanical background, making sculptures that come alive and breathe is magic. We are allowed to suspend reality and connect with our inner child. You may see Robin with large puppets such as a unicorn, phoenix, dragons, owls and other animals at outdoor events connecting with Mother Earth.
Working mainly with felting and finding the attributes of this medium as it connects and changes and becomes something other than it’s origin yet maintains those elements as well is magic.
